The 2018 Big Brother Naija (BBN) tagged double wahala recorded N5.1milion in short message service (sms) revenue, making it the highest in the history of the TV reality show in the country.

The organisers announced that the most watched TV reality show in Africa received 140million sms in its first 11th week and 30 million on the last week leading to grand finale.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the show host announced yesterday that the BBN 3 has received 170 million sms for the entire period of the show while 30 million was received a week to the final day.

The sms charge for a vote is N30 and N30 multiple with 170million sms equals to N5.1billion. This is not inclusive of the sponsorship revenue generated from Heritage Bank, Legend Extra Stout, Miemie, Pepsi, Nokia, Flex Condom, Airtel, and the major sponsor- Payporte.

Analysts say the show must have generated over N8billion in revenue.

After more than twelve weeks of 20 housemates living together and competing for the ultimate prize of forty-five million naira, the winner of the event-filled Wahala Edition emerged as Miracle Ikechukwu Igbokwe. The stylish but often quiet Miracle got his miraculous prize of forty-five million naira.

He defeated Cee-C (Cynthia Nwadora) who became the 1st-runner-up and Tobi (Oluwatobi Bakare) for the top prize. The social media had been agog all week with support from celebs and their fans thrown at Cee-C and Miracle giving credence that the battle was between the two.

Tobi was later evicted to give room for Miracle and Cee-c. Tobi, Cee-c and Miracle made the Top three. With support and the buzz high all looked forward to whom the winner would be and it happened to be Miracle.

Five house mates remained at the final episode after which Nina and Alex were evicted one after the other to give room for Tobi, Cee-C and Miracle.

Miracle also became one million naira richer for winning the day’s Payporte TASKS..

Top music artiste, Davido was among the entertainers on the historic night as the wave making Omo Baba Olowo sang his heart out.  Another singer from Choc City that entertained at the night was Dice Ailes who sang his hit song, OTEDOLA.

The Lagos venue of the Big Brother Naija, Wahala Edition, final episode held at The Podium Events Centre, Lekki was agog with the evicted housemates and the previous contestants of the previous edition, Bisola, the 2017 winner, Efe, T-boss gorgeously dressed and others. Loyal fans of the contestants,  Team Cee-C, Team Miracle, Team Tobi were on the stands routing for their hero who had come these far.

Amazing dancer, Kaffy also entertained with her Imagneto Crew.

The organizers and sponsors have had surely had value for their money for the razzmatzzz of this year’s edition was higher as contestant- twenty of them jostled for the top prize.
