The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria has said the organisation has the duty to contribute its quota to the development of human capital by growing people.

The President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Olusegun Mojeed disclosed this at 46th induction ceremony in Lagos while speaking to The PUNCH.

The institute inducted 398 human resource personnel after undergoing the required tests and certification examinations.

Mojeed said, “As an institute, on a daily basis, we are looking for how to continue to be relevant, getting in touch with authority, opening ways that please let us make our contribution to the economy.

“And what is our contribution? Our contribution is that we grow people, we are inculcating the discipline of work, performance and it doesn’t matter what field you are. That is what we do.”

Giving his opening speech, he said, “I want to celebrate the human resource personnel because, during the COVID-19 time when it was at its peak, we were there. We were there for work we were following up on everybody. Even though the state of the economy is scary globally, there’s no better time than now to be certified HR personnel.”
