The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has expressed immense gratitude to the Nigerian media over its interest in the Council’s activities during the immediate past director general, Mrs. Dupe Atoki’s era.

The Council however appealed to the journalists to support the new chief executive officer, Babatunde Irukera and take as much interest as it activities as shown during Atoki’s.

The Council through its Deputy Director, Public Relations, Abiodun Obimuyiwa said “The CPC wishes to express its warm gratitude to you for your immense support in the publicity of its activities during the administration of its immediate past Director General, Mrs. Dupe Atoki.”

He added, “We laud your level of professionalism and appreciate your keen interest in consumer protection issues, which have greatly aided the Council’s crusade for a virile consumer protection regime in Nigeria.”

While pleading for the support for his new boss, Obimuyiwa said “We are hoping that your interest in consumer protection issues will be sustained as the Council’s new Chief Executive, Mr. Babatunde Irukera, takes over the mantle of leadership and consolidates on the struggle for a better deal for Nigerian consumers.”
