It was a delightful occasion at the prize presentation ceremony for some lucky MTN subscribers who were made millionaires and proud owners of various gift items in the ongoing Mega Hunt Promo by Upstream Mobile Systems.

Four lucky subscribers became super millionaires in their own right as they won N10m each while some 20 others can equally say the same, having won N1m each. A host of others beamed with smiles as they carted away their winnings in generators, TV sets and Smartphones.

Speaking at the prize presentation ceremony, Country Manager, Upstream, Riaan Abdoll said that the promo is aimed at exciting and rewarding customers for their participation. According to him, “Products like Mega Hunt gives ordinary people extra-ordinary chance and opportunity to make a difference,” Abdul said.

On his part MTN Nigeria, Consumer Marketing General Manager, Richard Iweanoge who was represented by the Sponsorship and Events Manager, Okundola Bamgboye said that, the promo is one of MTN’s ways of appreciating its teeming subscribers who have stayed with the brand through the years while welcoming new subscribers onboard the MTN family.

Many of the subscribers, who could not hide their excitement, relayed their disbelief when informed of their winnings.

For 38 year-old mechanic, Tunde Onaleke who won 10 million naira, the feeling was that of excitement and amazement that led him to drink wine and sleep in a bid to come to terms with his new status as a millionaire. The artisan who was accompanied by his wife was full of thanks to MTN for granting him the wherewithal to cater for his family and send his child to the school he desired.

“I am very grateful to MTN for blessing me with this money. Before now, I desired to send my child to a private school when she secured admission. She ended up in a public school when I couldn’t afford the fees. Now, I am going to send her to the school I desire for her. Kudos to MTN for making me a millionaire,” he said.

Rosemary Okeke, an 18 year-old University hopeful and 10 million naira winner from Enugu State, talked about her surprise when she got a call from MTN’s 180 concerning her winning. She stressed that her educational future has now been secured financially, all thanks to MTN for the opportunity.
