As part of its commitment to authentic storytelling, Africa Magic premiered The wives roundtable on the 7th of  July. Hosted by family life counsellor Amaka Chibuzo-Obi, The show gives women and their families access to valuable information, tools, opportunities, and resources to help them lead wholesome lives. The show also gives people, especially women, a platform to air their views, opinions and experiences on various life matters.

After its first episode, which aired on Africa Magic Urban on July 7th, here are five things we love about the show:

Real-Life Stories

In the first episode, the host shared conversations with special guest Amaka Ezekwere on how people go into parenting without preparing adequately for the journey. Amaka Ezekwere shared her experience with family planning and how that helped her family.

In-Depth Analysis

The two ladies went on to further analyse the importance of making this preparation and shared some of the struggles resulting from unpreparedness or failure to plan.

Valuable Information

As a take-back, they shared ways in which women can take charge by planning and setting out plans with their husbands on what kind of parenting works best for them. They also gave examples of what worked for them in their families.

Opportunities To Listen to Multiple Perspectives

The audience was also not left behind, as the host Amaka, read some online conversations and shared some people’s experiences about parenting, which further emphasised the need for adequate parenting and doing what works for you.

Lessons Learnt

The host and her guest also shared their real-life experiences on what they thought parenting entailed versus what they eventually saw parenting as. To them, parenting was a lesson which helped them guide their children in the right direction.
