The Intafact Hero’s Foundation has announced that it would hold the award ceremony of the 2016 edition of its Kickstart Programme on December 9, 2016. The award ceremony would reward applicants who submitted outstanding and implementable business proposals.The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano will be the special guest of honour at the awards ceremony.

In a statement made in Onitsha, it was stated that the successful applicants would be given seed capital to either start up their proposed business ventures or expand existing ones. These winners would continue to receive mentoring and guidance for a period of one year.

The brewery noted that the initiative was aimed at helping young people to imbibe the culture of entrepreneurship and to build their businesses from ideation to actualisation.

Highlighting the credibility of the selection process, the foundation board said the winners would be deserving of the seed capital having been thoroughly screened from the beginning when the applicants, numbering over 1,700, were pruned to the 120, who were trained at the Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies and mentored by Prof. Alex Ikeme and Prof. Ngozi Anyikwa. The 120 short-listed applicants underwent fivedays training and submitted their business proposals, by which they were adjudged by a panel of five judges.

The panel was made up of Prof. Benjamin Osisioma, who is a Professor of Accountancy at the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Akwa; Joe Billy Ekwunife, the MD/CEO of Anambra State Investment Promotion Protection Agency (ANSIPPA); and Chidume Oranu Chris, who is the founder of Krioral Group of Companies and member of the Governing Board of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe.

Others were Bennedikter China Molokwu, who has sat on the boards of several companies including Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, and Mainone Cable Company Limited (Mauritus); and Ngozika Okoye, who is the founding President of Nam George Okoye Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, which promotes adult education.
