Etisalat Cliqfest engagement initiative in one of the centres

It was a carnival at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Ogun State last week as the Cliqfest train made its 3rd stop for 2016. The initiative is a strategic engagement with Nigerian youths by leading innovative and youth centric brand, Etisalat Nigeria and focuses on education, sports and entertainment in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

The two-day event culminated in the emergence of Ogundeyi  Ayobami, a HND1 student of Accounting as the winner of the star prize, a Hyundai i10 Car through a raffle draw. An elated Ayobami was full of praises to Etisalat for giving him the wonderful opportunity to experience Cliqfest.  “I never believed that I will win the car today and I am still pinching myself to make sure it’s not a dream,” he said.

Earlier, the students were treated to a riveting concert which featured rap act; Reminisce, singer; Lil Kesh of the “Shoki fame and Nigerian Idol 4 winner; Evelle who performed hit after hits from their chart topping albums.

Motivational speaker and life coach, Niyi Adesanya anchored the seminar on the first day and spoke on the theme: “Activate your Dreams,” as he provided the students with a roadmap on how to succeed beyond the four walls of their school and in their professional careers.

There was also a novelty football tournament, dance competitions, rap battles among the students and a music concert which featured singers and rappers from MAPOLY such as Pappy-Jay, Tonny Pliz, Shakes, Solak, Sirlammz and Dotman who thrilled their fellow students to renditions of their songs.

Speaking on the Cliqfest initiative with Nigerian students, Debo Agun, Manager, Consumer Segment, Etisalat Nigeria described the engagement level with the students of MAPOLY as a great experience for the brand, and pointed out that this is the second time the Cliqfest train will be visiting the school, having debuted at the school last year. “They were impacted on the first day of the seminar and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves during the concert and the football tournament which they didn’t want to end,” he said.

He explained that through Cliqfest, Etisalat has been to over 70 institutions of higher learning across the country. “I don’t think there is any brand or company that has been to as many campuses as Etisalat has done with Cliqfest, which is what makes us a truly Nigerian brand and one that is loved by youths,” he concluded.
