The Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) celebrated with guests, delegates, executives, parents and well-wishers as the MTN Foundation sponsored academy graduated the new set of musicians from the Scholars’ Programme.

 

This marked the 11th time the prestigious MUSON Music Academy would award their certification. The event which spanned for 4 days, began with performances, and courtesy visits of the graduands to select radio stations to create awareness ahead of the graduation concert and ceremony proper.

 

The graduation concerts featured great and scintillating musical performances from the graduating set, validating the lessons and instrumental skills acquired during the 2 year course as well as entertaining the audience and all available for this great viewing. The nights featured an extensive mix of musical medleys by the musical scholars and beneficiaries of the MTN Foundation Music Scholars Programme.

The graduating scholars of the music school were given the opportunity to shine on the stage, as they were permitted to showcase their expertise in playing various musical instruments, flaunting vocal dexterity, to the delight of the music lovers present. The crowd came to life when performer Oguntade Kanje stepped up and gave the show of a lifetime with her great voice as she calmly serenated the audince with her smooth tunes. The crowd couldn’t hold their excitement and instantly went ecstatic.

The Graduation ceremony was a splendid event which featured the presentation of Diploma in music certificates to the 29 graduating scholars, along with prizes and awards to some of them who exhibited MTN values such as Leadership, Integrity, Can-Do Spirit, Innovation and Relationship, according to the Executive Secretary of the MTN Foundation, Nonny Ugboma.

MTN Foundation presented gifts to the music school, recieved by Mrs. Marion Akpata, Director MUSON school of music and Mrs. Edna Soyanwo Deputy Director MUSON School of music, as well as giving prizes for the best graduating students Prize for Best Graduating Students as proud parents watched on.

MTN Foundation in partnership with MUSON have proudly graduated over 200 students from the prestigious academy since its inception and highly rated certification in 2006. This partnership with MUSON is part of MTN Foundation’s support of arts and culture in Nigeria.
