Preparation is heightened as the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, (ARCON) owned second edition of the National Advertising Conference (NAC) would be commencing on the November 29th to December 1st at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, organisers have announced on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022.

At the press conference in Lagos to unveil the theme and speakers as well as the programme of the 2022 National Advertising Conference, the Conference Chairman/GMD Republicom Group, Tunji Adeyinka stated that the theme for this year’s biggest advertising gathering is “The Marketing Communications: New Trends, Challenges and Prospects”.

Adeyinka, who is also the President of Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria, (EXMAN) said, ‘’ARCON which used to be APCON in 2019 decided to put together a conference that brings together all the stakeholders and practitioners and businesses in the advertising ecosystem. That is what heralded the birth of the national advertising conference in Nigeria.

The inaugural edition took place in 2019 and subsequent edition was truncated by the outbreak of Coronavirus (CoVID19) pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

Adeyinka disclosed that the event will commence with a night of ICON and would be followed by the opening ceremony the following day which has topic such as State of the Economy, the Advertising Industry – Total Size, Data, etc by Ronan Redmond, Director and CRO, TVC, the Advertising Industry- growing the pie while Stronger Brands, Stronger Nation- A Brand Report, by Mr. Emmanuel Oriakhi, Marketing Director, NB PLC.

Other crucial topics and facilitators include Understanding the New Consumer – From Genz to Alpha by Prof. Samaila Mande of National Open University, Building Nigeria’s new television audience measurement system- Mr Rotimi Pedro, FMEIL, From buying board space to buying mind space- new trends in OOH, by Emmanuel Agu, Group Marketing Director, Jotna, The Current State of Data Protection and Privacy in Nigeria – NITDA + ARCON and improving inclusion and diversity in the marketing communications industry by Mrs. Biodun Adefila, COO SU&U.

“The conference has been designed to bring together the three pillars of the industry, the advertisers, marketing agencies and the media and strengthening all of that is the regulator that facilitates and ensures that the industry can grow”.

According to him, the event will be attended by an array of industry intellectuals and legends who will critically examine issues around the global economic impact on the industry, consumers changing behavior as well as a holistic review of the new regulatory framework aimed to ensure a more responsible advertising ecosystem.

The high point of the event will be the Advertising Standard Panel Award where companies that complied with the stipulated guidelines of the advertising code of practice will be given special recognition and award.

On participation, the conference chair said, “Participants are required to pay N95,000 as fees, early birds will have a 20,000 discount. Students are to pay N50,000 while early birds who register two weeks before the event will be required to pay N40,000.

The organisers also used the medium to announce partnership with Arik Air and Ibom Air.
