As part of its membership commitments to Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), industry growth and support for the organized private sector, Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC) actively participated in the 45th Annual General Meeting of MAN.
The event which took place recently, witnessed a large turnout of member delegates from different manufacturing sectorial groups, service providers, high ranking government officials and industry stakeholders.
NBC Leadership of Amb. Segun Apata, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Sade Morgan, Legal, Public Affairs and Communications Director, welcomed to NBC Booth, delegates and other special guests, including the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed, who was representing the President Mohammadu Buhari, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, His Excellency, Benjamin William Mkapa, former President of United Republic of Tanzania and former High Commissioner of Tanzania to Nigeria.
In his formal welcome speech, Amb. Segun Apata, Chairman of the NBC Board of Directors paid homage to the exemplary service of His Excellency, Benjamin William Mkapa, former President of United Republic of Tanzania and former High Commissioner of Tanzania to Nigeria. He praised his involvement in positioning Africa positively on the International map. His words: “It is most fitting to disclose that you are one of the few African leaders who made African diplomats walk tall in major international conferences and meetings, particularly at the United Nations by your well-reasoned contributions. Thank you sir, for being an African leader who made the task of African diplomats a delight.”

Also speaking at the event, NBC Legal, Public Affairs and Communications Director, Sade Morgan said, “The involvement of NBC at the 45th AGM of MAN provides a unique opportunity to further associate with industry stakeholders, and showcase excellence in world class manufacturing operations and global brands that stands NBC out as an industry frontrunner and undisputed market leader”. Mrs. Morgan added that, NBC has been an active member of MAN, supporting its initiatives and contributing to ensuring a stable and sustainable economy for Nigeria. NBC has been consistently manufacturing and distributing Coca-Cola brands to the Nigerian market, and has established itself as an industry key player, making huge investments to boost the Nigerian economy, rewarding stakeholders and enriching the lives of the local communities.
According to MAN President, Dr. Frank Udemba Jacobs, “The theme for the 45th Annual General Meeting of MAN, ‘Recovery and Growth of the Nigerian Economy’, is necessitated by the prevailing economic situation in the country, the need to overcome it and how to sustain a post crisis economy.” MAN has provided a forum where manufacturers can operate efficiently and profitably for the benefit of all, and for the private sector to formulate and articulate policy suggestions that would be complementary to governments efforts at policy formulation
