The Nigeria Police led by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, NPM, mni and the management of Akin Fadeyi Foundation (AFF},  a Non-Governmental Organization promoting anti-corruption Advocacy in Nigeria have unveiled  their recently consummated partnership at the International Conference Centre Abuja on Thursday 20th April. The Launch will reaffirm the continued commitment of the Police to stemming the tide of corruption in Nigeria as well as improving transparency and accountability within the Force.

 

In a release signed by Mr. Akin Fadeyi, the Executive Director, Akin Fadeyi Foundation, he said:

“We are excited to see the partnership between us and the Police come to a grand point. To us this is not just a launch, but a strong signal to all Nigerians and the International Community that our Police, more than any other time in the nation’s history is fully committed to international Policing best practices”.

Mr. Fadeyi  noted further that the Launch, themed “Towards a more friendly Police” will be hosted by Mr Ibrahim K. Idris NPM, Mni, The Inspector General of Police while the keynote address will be delivered by Mr Abubakar Malami SAN,  the  Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

The event will also serve as the Official Premier of the Corruption: Not in My Country Police Anti-Corruption Advocacy Drama Skits, produced with support from the EU-Funded UNDP/UNODC programme.

The grand launch will be attended by Open Governance stakeholders including Government Agencies, Civil Society Coalitions, the National Assembly, representatives of the Diplomatic community, International Development Partners, Academics and the Media.
