The Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Plc, Oluwasoromidayo George, has been appointed as the Chairman of Water Mandate Council in Nigeria alongside her role at Coca-Cola HBC.

In her new position, Mrs. George will further influence Nigeria’s approach to ensuring clean water access.

Prior to her appointment at the Water Mandate Council in Nigeria, Soromidayo was and still is the Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Plc. Before joining Coca-Cola, she made history as the pioneering female Corporate Affairs & Sustainable Business Director at Unilever for West and Central Africa, which encompasses Franco-phone Africa. She also held the distinction of being the first female Executive Director of the BATN Foundation (British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation). In addition, she assumed the position of Head of Corporate Affairs for British American Tobacco (BAT) in West & Central Africa.

George serves as the Chair of the UN Global Compact Network in Nigeria and holds the Co-Chair position on the CEO Water Mandate Council. She represents the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and chairs the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Group (MANEG).

An accomplished Corporate Affairs & Sustainable Business Director, George brings extensive expertise in sustainable business, development, ESG, sustainability, and CSR. With a solid background in corporate communications, external relations, and policy advocacy, she excels in campaign planning and execution. George has a proven track record of leading innovative projects and developing strategies to guide companies in achieving growth while adhering to sustainable development principles.

She co-founded the Corporate Social Responsibility and Governance Institute and established the Heart of Ruth Fund in 2016, which later evolved into the Heart of Ruth Foundation, dedicated to supporting the rehabilitation of women and children facing abuse or economic challenges.

Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Walden University, George’s research focuses on Bottom of the Pyramid strategies in emerging markets. She is actively involved as a Fellow at the WIMBOARD Institute, a member of the AIESEC Nigeria Board of Advisors, and a participant in the WIMBIZ/IE University Executive Education Programme for Women on Boards in Madrid. She has also served on the WIMBIZ Executive Council and acts as an adjunct faculty member at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University.

Furthermore, George contributes her expertise as a committee member for Plastic Waste Management at the Ministry of Environment in Nigeria and holds a position on the Board of the Nigerian Business Disability Network.
