The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of a former member of the House of Representatives and former caretaker Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Honourable Temilola Segun Adibi, as the Director-General of the Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA).

 

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the governor wished Adibi the best in the new assignment.

 

The letter of appointment, which was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, showed that Adibi’s appointment took effect on November 19, 2019.

 

The statement expressed the Governor’s expectation that the new OYSAA DG will discharge his duty with “absolute loyalty, dedication and diligence.”

Unlike previous helmsmen at the signage agency in Oyo, Adibi is unprofessional in the industry he is appointed to drive.

Yinka Adepoju, the first DG of the agency was not a green horn at the time he was appointed in 2012 by ex governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Adepoju, a resourceful marketing communication practitioner with sound knowledge of outdoor advertising in Nigeria, was reappointed as the Director General of OYSAA at the twilight of the administration of Ajimobi.

Another knowledgable person who occupied that office was Babajide Fagade. Fagade, a renowned outdoor practitioners and one considered the best in outdoor reportage in Nigeria ran the agency albeit successfully until he was eased out by the same Ajimobi.

Another round peg in a round hole was the appointment of  Olorunshola Omotayo Oyewole, a Consultant/ Managing Director, Adserve Communication Limited, Ibadan, as Special Adviser/Director General, OYSAA by same Ajimobi.

Omotayo ran OYSAA and exited the government with the former governor.

Adibi, a holder of a Higher National Diploma certificate in Mining Engineering with Applied Geology, represented Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire Federal Constituency between 1999 and 2003, having worked in different sectors across the fields of mining, geology and teaching.
