iSON, Nigeria’s foremost leader in the IT and ITeSs has called for more private/public organizations to create opportunities to drive employment generation in the face of rising unemployment statistics in the country.

Recently, the company; a GPTW Nigeria award winner, announced ambitious plans to employ 20,000 Nigerian youths by 2017 following its meteoric rise in almost 5 years to become an influential thought leader in its market. Founder and Chairman of ISON group, Ramesh Awtaney, says, “iSON prides itself on being THE place to work. “But more than that, we not only provide jobs, with an attractive talent pool, we also believe in building careers. One of the ways we can forestall the upsurge in unemployment in the country is to offer platforms to not just attract young Nigerians but also build and nurture them in their desired career path,” he added.

iSON Group provides its services largely in the Africa region. The group has a presence in Burkina Faso, Burundi , Cameroon, Chad, Congo B,  DRC, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Morocco,  Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Senegal , Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

iSON call centers are usually situated in semi urban environments. The group opts for these areas as a means of on shoring and utilizing local talents. iSON sources its employees locally, offering extensive training to these local talents as a means of delivering optimum performance to customers. Employees are also offered rotations, where they are able to work at different iSON locations around the world.

With some of its key clients such as MTN, Airtel, Glo Mobile,AIICO Insurance, GT Bank,  operating in the Nigerian market, iSON hosts its call centers around the country. In 2015, iSON commissioned a new MTN call center in Ibadan, which renders customer care services to MTN customers around the country. Recently, iSON commenced operations in Rwanda iSON commenced MTN operations in Rwanda too.

The company plans to launch new call centers in Ibadan and Ilorin which will not only offer a plethora of employment opportunities butt also facilitate urban rural job shift.

“By driving capacity to our call centers located in less commercial areas around the country, we also assist in boosting the economy and rapidly developing our host communities.” Ramesh Awtaney says.

As part of our strategy, we have capitalized in developing indigenous systems and empowering local talent to foster a better future for the African continent. We do not outsource local work outside of Africa.” He emphasized.
