The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Communication, Mr. Femi Adesina, would be chairing the 2015 annual Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN), theme: “Challenges and Prospects of Corporate Social Responsibility in Nigeria: Roles of Organisations, Government and the Media” in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, the Association has revealed.
The three day event, which is the 3rd edition, is scheduled to begin on November 19 and close on November 21 2015 and is expected to attract high profile integrated marketing communications professionals and government officials.
Adesina along with other seasoned industry practioners such as Ken Egbas, Managing Director, TruContact, Dr Festus Adedayo, Special Adviser, Media and Communications to the Oyo State Governor, Ms. Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, Editor, Thisday, Udeme Ufot, GMD SO&U/Chairman of APCON, Mrs. Folake Ani-Mumuney, Group Head, Marketing and Communication, First Bank, Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Group Head, Corporate Communication, Dangote Group, Mr. Herbert Wigwe , Group Managing Director, Access Bank, Mr. Bode Opeseitan, Director, Sponsorship, Globacom and Lolade Odedina, General Manager, Communications, Guaranty Trust Bank amongst others.
Speaking on the conference, BJAN’s Chairman, Mr. Goddie Ofose, said the 3rd BJAN conference has been designed as part of efforts to, among other things to provide platform for discussion on serious issues, engender opportunities for bonding between brand journalists and the private sector as well as other critical stakeholders.
He explained further that the conference will also provide refreshers for brand reporters across the country on critical and emerging issues in global sustainability as well as affording brand journalists the opportunity of sharing ideas with stakeholders in the industry.
It would be recalled that BJAN, in the effort to galvanize professional excellence in brand reporting, has since 2013 organised annual conferences to stimulate industry discussions on national issues. The theme for its maiden edition was “Repositioning Centenary Brands to Align with Modern Realities, and was held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital. While in 2014, the theme dwelled on “Tourism Marketing as Catalyst for Economic Development, and was hosted by the Osun State government in Osogbo.
This year, will have experts in the CSR/sustainability and allied industry brainstorming on various bordering on sustainability, CSR and philanthropy. The Association however called on corporate organisations to support the event, which has become one of the reference point in the imc industry calendar
