Sesan Sobowale, former director at Guinness

One of the longest-serving directors at Guinness Nigeria, Sesan Sobowale has resigned his appointment from the company, 789marketing can authoritatively reveal.

Sobowale, who left the brewery giant 2 weeks ago, was until his resignation, a Guinness Nigeria’s Corporate Relations Director.

He joined the company in April 2005 and his departure has brought a 12 year stint with Guinness to an end.

Prior to his departure, Sobowale was touted as one of Nigeria’s directors in line to be appointed the managing director/chief executive officer, but his exit may have finally nail the coffin on the speculation.

It is gathered that his exit from Guinness was mutually agreed.

He joined Guinness as company secretary in 2005, and rose through the ranks to become the corporate relations director.

An email sent to Sobowale through his official email revealed, “Thank you for your email. I have now left Diageo. If your message is personal, you may please contact me on my personal email address”

Investigations reveal that the former director at Guinness Nigeria is currently holidaying outside the country; hence his mobile lines were inaccessible.

On his next move, sources said that Sobowale is planning to unveil his consulting firm after his return to the country, rather than goes into another employment.

Sobowale qualified as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and was admitted to the Bar in December 1990.

He has over 18 years of commercial legal experience in Nigeria’s leading commercial law firms including G. M. Ibru & Co., Udo-Udoma & Bello-Osagie and the Law Union. Sesan is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (Nigeria and UK).

He was appointed Regulatory Advisor at MTN Nigeria Communications Limited in August 2004 from where he was appointed as Legal Adviser in Guinness Nigeria Plc on 18th April 2005. Sesan was appointed by the Board as Company Secretary in September 2006. He resides in Nigeria.
