SHRMThe 2016 window has now been opened for Human Resources professionals in Nigeria to apply and prepare for the mid-year examinations which will lead to the globally-recognised Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) certifications. This announcement was made during a media briefing in Lagos recently at the office of the SHRM Training Partner in Nigeria, Skills-Farm. Speaking at the event, Isoken Okusami, General Manager at Skills Farm said Human Resources practitioners who desire to meet the ever-increasing demand of the world’s top businesses for the renowned competency-based certifications by SHRM – the world’s largest HR Practitioners’ body – can now register for the preparation classes for the examinations holding from May to mid-July 2016.
SHRM has for years, through its much respected and globally valued HR certifications, advanced the practice to aid businesses and enrich the careers of HR practitioners. To that end, it established two competency-based certifications, the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) for early and mid-career professionals, and the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) for senior-level practitioners. These two certifications are anchored on SHRM BoCK – SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge.
According to Okusami, the Prep Class Sessions for the exams will hold in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt for the convenience of HR practitioners based across the country. “Candidates for the SHRM examinations will now be able to use the Testing Centre in Nigeria rather than in Ghana”, Okusami said, adding that candidates who wanted success in the mid-year SHRM exams will need the support of original prep materials, including books, for their learning for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP.
