Dropbox has appointed Stagwell’s Gale as its global media agency of record following a competitive review that began in the spring.

The digital storage and work-related tech products company previously worked with Interpublic’s Mediahub, which won the account in 2018.

Estimated annual global media spending for Dropbox is $50 million, according to agency research firm COMvergence.

Gale’s remit includes an “audience first” approach to media planning, buying and optimization across all Dropbox products.

With the win, Gale manages media spending of close to $1 billion.

The addition of Dropbox follows other recent wins including H&R Block, Seagate, Lumos, Cadre and Carson Wealth. Largely due to successful new-business development, the agency has grown revenues over 400% since 2020. During the same period, the agency’s headcount has more than tripled to 650 employees.

The review was led by MediaSense.

Founded in 2014, Gale currently has offices in New York, Singapore, Toronto, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, London, Austin and Bengaluru.
