The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has felicitated with its former chairperson, Mrs Nkechi Ali-Balogun on her recognition among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications.

Ali-Balogun, who is a Fellow of the NIPR and Council member, broke the glass ceiling to emerge as first female chair of Lagos NIPR in 2005.

The award for Ali-Balogun came from the Women in Marketing and Communications Conference/Awards (WIMCA), an initiative of Brand Communicators magazine. Its 2022 was held edition over the weekend. WIMCA is the largest gathering of female brands, marketing and communications professionals in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.

In a statement by its Public Relations Executive, Mr Samuel Adeyemi, Lagos NIPR said that it received Ali-Balogun’s award with great pleasure.

“Indeed, this award is a fitting tribute that underscores the tireless efforts of the awardees in pushing the frontiers of excellence as well as contributions to the growth of PR, brands, marketing and communication industry.

“We applaud the awardees for making us proud and holding aloft the banner of the premier chapter”, the statement reads.

WIMCA’s citation for Ali-Balogun reads: “… in recognition of your efforts in pushing the frontiers of excellence as well as contribution to the growth of the brands, marketing and communications industry”.

The Principal Consultant of NECCI Consulting, Ali-Balogun is reputed for her knowledge sharing passion and strategic engagements.

She is the Founder/Convener of NECCI Public Relations Roundtable, which will hold its 2022 edition on 27th and 28th of this month.

Ali-Balogun is the President of the Committee of Friends for Humanity, a non-profit organisation whose main focus is the upliftment of less privileged women and children in across the federation.
