Imagine finding yourself in a dance faceoff (or any other competition), and you desperately need a celebrity to save the day. Who do you call? Well, Africa Magic’s newest game show, titled “Overall Best”, showed us who is mostly likely to “bring it” this past weekend.

Overall Best premiered on Sunday, March 3rd, and it is not your regular game show. The show pitches some of your favourite celebrities against one another, making for a battle of brains, brawns, and a whole lot of fun. With a medley of games and activities spread out over several weeks, it’s a show packed with excitement and entertainment.

The premiere episode kicked off with a bang, courtesy of the amazing performance by the PC Drumline Corp. Anchoring the show is the duo of Osas Ighodaro and Hero Daniels, as the hosts with the most, who took the audience on a journey to discover the Overall Best.

The audiences were hyped as they were introduced to their favs on each team. From Enioluwa (President of the Gen Z Republic) to the fabulous Tomike Adeoye (Olori Ebi) representing Team TEA. The team promised to bring the vibe and energy while having fun.

Next came Liquorose and Beauty Tukura, representing Team Litty, and like Hero Daniels said: “LIT signifies ‘Living in Triumph’”. Well, let’s see if the team that promises to bring all the energy triumphs and take the Overall Best trophy.

Last but certainly not least, we have Team Vibe, consisting of Akproko Doctor and VJ Adams. With teamwork, they’re determined to win the Overall Best trophy.

The games began with a Dance Competition, with Bunmi Olunloyo, Ibrahim Suleiman, and Kaffy serving as the judges. Team Tea brought the heat, spilling the tea on the dance floor with all their energy. Team Litty came right in with Liquorose doing what she does best, and who knew Beauty had moves? The Vibe squad extended their vibes to the dance floor. This section brought the energy we asked for. Being a dance competition, you can probably already guess which team emerged the winner of this game.

Next up was the “Name the song” game, a test of the contestants’ knowledge and speed of Nigerian music. Let’s just say, the teams didn’t disappoint.

In the final game for the episode, “The Hunt” where the contestants were to search for ten items revealed only when they solved the riddles displayed on a scroll. The team with the highest items before the time elapses gets the highest points.

The teams brought their competitive side and their A-games, but only one team gets to be crowned the Overall Best, and we can’t wait to find out who it would be.
