Award winning journalist, Tony Kan resumes as Glo PR manager

Leading Nigerian telecoms company, Glo has announced the appointment of Tony Kan as the new head of its Public Relations.

His appointment takes effect from Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
 Kan,described as a Public Relations Strategist  was born in 1971 and studied English literature at the University of Jos. He earned a master’s degree in Enlish Literature from the University of Lagos in 1999.

 A renowned poet, editor and teacher, he is the author of the collection of short stories, Night of a Creaking Bed, and he is noted for exploring themes on African sexuality which was published by Cassava Republic press.

Before his appointment, he had previously worked at Visafone, Ntel, Zenith Bank and several others organizations.

He is a multiple award winner of several literary prizes, including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) / Ken Saro Wiwa literature prize awarded by the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) in 2009 as well as the Muson Poetry prize.

He had attended several oversea fellowship programmes including among others, Heinrich Boll in Germany, Civitella Ranieri in Italy as well as Yaddo in Saratoga Springs in New York.

While in Jos as an undergraduate, Kan had entered for a British Council literary competition for Nigerian Universities and emerged second. On the strength of that prize, he enrolled for a summer school at University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
