A partnership agreement has been inked by the BUA Group and CIMC ENRIC to develop a minor LNG facility with a daily capacity of 700 tons in Nigeria.

According to a statement released by BUA, the signing ceremony was held yesterday at the company’s Lagos, Nigeria, headquarters.

The strategic alliance confirmed BUA Group’s dedication to sustainable energy solutions throughout all of its business operations and was a major turning point in the company’s entry into the energy industry.

Mr. Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Chairman of BUA Group, promised that BUA would continue to be committed to using cleaner, energy-efficient sources for its activities throughout Nigeria by its sustainability objectives and short-to-long-term ESG commitments.

Rabiu went on to say that although BUA currently relies heavily on gas to power its more than 1,000 MW of captive power plants for operations throughout Nigeria, the completion of the mini LNG project would improve the year-round availability of cleaner energy and help BUA meet its expanding industrial power needs.

He said: “We are excited about the prospects of this project and look forward to a fruitful collaboration with CIMC ENRIC.”

The accord emphasized the project’s expected influence on the energy landscape of the region, aligning with the Nigerian government’s efforts to broaden its energy pledges.

BUA Group is still dedicated to making investments in state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology that improve its operations and the communities it serves.

Leading African conglomerate in the food, mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors, BUA Group has a wide range of holdings in real estate and construction, rice, port operations, energy, sugar, cement, and sugar.
