It was the southwest edition of the Lush Hair Stylists Hangout in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital when the brand generously applauded the creativity, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit of Hairstylists in Oyo and stated their goal of empowering hairstylists in the state.

The event was hosted by two prominent faces in the movie and entertainment industry: Aisha Lawal, an ace producer, actor and presenter, her co-host was Ayo Ajewole a.k.a WĆ²lƭƬ Agba; a compĆØre, actor and content creator popularly known for his comedic skits on social media. 

The Salon Channel Development Manager, Mr. Anshu Kumar stated that Lush Hair is very serious about the products delivered to its customers, hence the brand takes time before launching the products. “We always take a lot of time before launching our products, and we make sure that the products are according to the needs and the requirements of our customers. So, we have a great team where we do much research before launching.” He added that the silky and shining quality of Lush Hair puts it ahead of its competitors. 

Having hosted the maiden edition in Lagos and the kickoff of this edition, Lush Hair, stated that just as the event has been brought to the city of Ibadan, it will be extending to other parts of the country, the goal is to empower hairstylists in Oyo State continuously. Speaking further, the Assistant Brand Manager for Lush Hair, Damilola Agboola said ā€œOur plan is not to take your money but to impact customers and hairstylists through initiatives that will be of benefit to all partiesā€.
She added that with Lush Hair’s lightweight quality, various colours and designs created to suit the female hair need at every point in time, they are focused on making fashion life easy for women across all works of life. Damilola concluded by showing the existing products in the market as well as emerging ones. The categories were Braids, Crochets and weaves w in various colours such as 1,7,101, Blue, Naija green, Rose Pink, Lush Pink, Camo Green, Aqua, and in designs like Zari Braids, Tiara curls, Kinky royale, Pearson weaves, Bone straight and much more. The upcoming products include Galaxy Ombre Braids and Galaxy Braid Mix. The kids were not left out in the game as products such as Nini Fro and Kinky Twist amongst others were also initiated.

She further corroborated that part of the initiative to empower hairstylists includes the Lush Hair Professional School, Lush Hair Academy and the Lush Pink Belle Initiative, which is open to any female with interest. 

Some of the highlights of the events include a debate on names of places in Ibadan with group B winning 2 times out of 3, the Lush Hair Models runway, a five-man panellist session which includes the official hairstylist for Lush – Oguniyi Tobiloba officially known Tobbiestouch, The Chairman of the Association of Hairdressers, Oyo state chapter, Mrs Abigail Ogungbemi, chairperson, Nigeria Association of hairdressers and cosmetologists, Lagos chapter, Digital Manager- Osagie and the Assistant Brand Manager Damilola Agboola, where they answered general questions from the audience.

One of the major highlights was the games session anchored by the hosts. Three stylists were picked from the two groups to make a hairstyle in 15 minutes. The top three stylists who qualified were awarded 50k, 30k and 20k for their presentable outfits. Members of the National Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists in South-west Nigeria were equally rewarded with Cash gifts of 100k each.
Speaking on behalf of other hairstylists, the winner of the competition stated that Lush Hair has been very supportive and cooperative with their business deals. She added that Lush Hair has been of great help to her business for the past five years that she has been dealing with them.
