In line with his mandate as president of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, NIMN, Mr. Idorenyen Enang has charged members of the institute to take advantage of the series of initiatives introduced by his administration to improve their operations and professional output.

While affirming that the institute is determined to continuously create learning platforms to expose members to the latest insights and mechanisms that aligns with the rapidly dynamic marketplace,  stated that the institute will soon make attendance mandatory for all members as such forum is necessitated by the need to ensure that practitioners are abreast with the current realities in the  marketing ecosystem.

In his words: “There are things I will change dramatically, there are things that will be clear mandatories for associates, for full members and also for fellows. Part of that is sitting up and becoming accountable and responsible to the institute. It will be mandatory for you as a member of the institute to attend the marketing conference and other important events that have to do with your professional status and the AGM which is about the governance of the institute”.

The NIMN boss who decried the attitude of some members which is not in conformity with goals of the institute said “People just take these things for granted and we had to be chasing people. We should not be chasing you to pay your subscription”.

According to him, effective from January 1st, 2023, members will have to show commitment to the institute to be able to renew their membership status.

“You will not have your status coming to you every year, you will now be required to work for it. Engross yourself into the learning interventions we are having. There will be a minimum number of training interventions or learning interventions that you must attend. Without which you cannot retain your status”, he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to drive inclusivity and urged members to support efforts aimed at repositioning the industry for growth.
