To proper market Nigeria through its numerous natural resources and other endowments, the body of marketers, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has scheduled to host a marketing conference in Abuja next week themed Marketing Nigeria.
The conference is scheduled to take place in Abuja on February 15 and 16 2018.
The theme according to the President and Chairman of Council of the institute, Tony Agenmonmen, is in line with the institute’s commitment to contribute its quota to the efforts to move the country forward.
“The choice of the theme is informed by the strong conviction of the institute that marketing can be used as a strong vehicle to project and promote the image of the nation externally but more importantly, share the great strides our nation has achieved and what it means to love Nigeria by its citizenry,” said Agenmonmen.
He said the theme is also in support of the efforts of the government to fundamentally rebrand Nigeria and endear it to both Nigerians and the outside world alike.
It is gathered that the Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah will deliver a key note address while the former chairman of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria and group managing director of Prima Garnet, Lolu Akinwunmi, Mr. Femi Adesina, Ms Aisha Falode, Mallam Mahmud Jega, Lampe Omoyele and Atunyota Akpobome will discuss the papers.
The conference however will look at five critical marketing elements which include sports, entertainment, media, government and marketing.
The Chairman of the conference committee, Kachi Onubogu said the conference will be a congregation of marketing professionals from different sectors of the Nigerian economy, other professionals, and top government functionaries. Also open to general public”, he said.
Agenmonmen said the actionable conference conclusions will be presented to the government as the institute’s input to policy making and good marketing practice in governance.
