In furtherance to their innovative approach to doing business in sub-Saharan Africa, Galaxy Backbone, Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank, LSDPC, Crystal Finance, Brands Optimal, Melvic Gold marketing agency, FHA Mortgage, CAP Plc, others won the West Africa Innovation Awards 2018.
The colorful award ceremony which took place in Lagos at the weekend witnessed Chief Executives Officers of different organisations sharing their brand experiences and challenges of the year under review.
The awards kicked off with Mr. Tunde Owoeye, CEO, of Phoster Communications, commending the organisers for putting up a reward platform for businesses that move out of their comfort zone to do things differently.
Speaking on the processes that lead to eventual winners, the organizer of the Awards, Mr. Abidemi Adesanya said the process has been very rigorous. The panel of judges did a wonderful job by scrutinizing all the entries hence the caliber of the CEOs we have here tonight
“ we have 20 categories and all the winners are deserving of the awards going by what they have achieved in terms of technology deployment, new products and others,” he said,
He added that
According to him, “We are innovative; in fact, if not for innovation I don’t what would have become of our private sector. Nigeria is the most innovative market in Africa apart from South Africa,” he said
In term of expansion and new market, he added, Nigeria businesses have their foot prints across Africa and other markets. We are the leaders despite all the challenges we have had and we will remain the leader.”
Mr. Sanwo-Olu Babajide, the Managing Director of Lagos State Development & Property Corporation, gave an insight into what makes the company the brand of the future in the area of technology, innovation and other strategic milestones.
Babajide said, “any business that wants to outlived its founders should continuously think out of the box while creating new markets for the business.”
The winners took turn to speak on innovation and how their businesses have been deploying technology to remain relevance.
The winners include Mrs Angela Ukara Makinwa of Melvic Gold Communications. Mrs. Idowu of Touchponts, Mr. Jonathan Attaghani of FHA Mortgage Bank, Mr. Otis Ojeikhoa of Brands Optimal, Mrs. Busola Onamusi , Brand Manager, CAP Plc, among others.
Adeniyi Olusola, Project Manager, West Africa Innovation Awards said that some of the other winners of the coveted award include Wildflower PR, Designhub Africa, Voyance Marketing, Media Stamp, NewAge Leasing, Imaginarium, among several other leading brands. The award presentation session was full of suspense and excitement as winners could not hide their excitement and others were encouraged to do better in future
