Modion Communications, one of Africa’s most celebrated young Public Relations and Integrated Marketing Communication Consultancies, has once again earned double international recognitions for its works at this year’s SABRE Awards Africa. Modion Communications has now maintained a three-year winning streak with the wins at the highly contested and globally acclaimed creative public relations awards, SABRE Awards since the agency debuted in 2020.

This year, Modion Communications clinched two Certificates of Excellence for its “#ZOLAEffect” campaign for ZOLA Electric Nigeria and “Stand Back, Don’t Touch Me”, an in-house creative media relations tactic to support AriseTV Correspondent, who was abused by the Police in the course of her work.

The recent awards take the total haul to eight recognitions from seven submissions in three years: Four Certificates of Excellence, three Diamond SABRE trophies, and a Platinum SABRE piece, the first-ever by a Nigerian Agency.

The agency’s wins have come from various creative campaigns for a diverse clientele, such as Nigeria’s leading insurer, Leadway Assurance; renewable energy giant, Lumos Nigeria; innovative mobility and logistics tech company, Gokada; one of Nigeria’s foremost renewable energy solutions provider, ZOLA Electric Nigeria and pan African insurance giant with over 176 years heritage, Old Mutual.

Commenting on the wins, the Chief Executive Officer, Modion Communications, Odion Aleobua, said, “When we started as a business in 2015, our quest was to have just one SABRE Award in our award profile as a testament to the creative and effective PR solutions we offer our numerous clients. Fast forward to a few years later, we have clinched four Certificates of Excellence, three Diamond SABREs and one Platinum Award for our creative ingenuity.

“We are very proud that these wins demonstrate the diversity of our superior and world-class solutions with recognition coming for our works in crisis management, social impact, brand activation, financial reporting, employees engagement and media relations indicating our capabilities to turn little ideas into global award-winning campaigns. I am proud of the what the team has done to put the nation and continent on the global map,” Aleobua added.

Recall that in May 2021, Modion Communications with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) focused campaign for Lumos Nigeria tagged ‘Touching Lives Through A Determined School Child – Dele Fathia’, emerged as the first Nigerian PR Agency to win the highly coveted Platinum SABRE Awards for Africa’s ‘Best in Show’, having won a Diamond SABRE with the same campaign. At the time, the agency won the category which featured competitive entries from Oxygène Marketing Communication with its KCB Group – 2jiajiri for KCB Foundation; Integrated Indigo’s campaign for Nigerian Breweries titled Maltina Teacher of the Year; Circus! Advertising’s MUA Learners Challenge and The Virtual Rotary Cancer Run 2020 campaign entered by Burson Cohn & Wolfe for Centenary Bank.

The Platinum win, which qualified for the global SABRE competition, emerged as the highest-ranked work by an Africa PR Agency, with a 7th place win.
