On December 8, 2023, the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, made a very significant appointment. Franca Aiyetan, its then Director in charge of the Directorate of Broadcast Monitoring was elevated to the position of Secretary to the 32 years old Commission, making her the first woman so far, to be appointed to that position not in an acting capacity

Aiyetan joined the NBC  in 1995 as a Senior Public Affairs Officer. In 2006, as an Assistant Chief, she moved to mainstream Monitoring and Enforcement and rose to become the First Female Zonal Director for Abuja in 2012. In that position, she raised the stakes of broadcast regulation. In 2019, Aiyetan was promoted to the position of Director and was returned to head the Public Affairs of the commission.  Between  2021 and December 2023 she served as Director in charge of the Directorate of Broadcast Monitoring.

Mrs. Franca Aiyetan is a graduate of Performing Arts from the University of Ilorin and holds a Masters degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja.
