In a night of glitz and glamour, winners have emerged at the 2nd Edition of the Nigerian Marketing Awards recently in Lagos. On the night, MTN Nigeria clinched the award for the Best Reputation Management of the year, while Rickett (Dettol) left with the award for the Best Social Responsibility Campaign of the year.

Also, Palmpay won best use of social media of the year award, and Red media

Bagged the Best Influencer Marketing of the Year award. ZAGG was also decorated with the award for the Brand innovation of the year, while Pepsi was honoured with the award for

Campaign of the year.

Ifeyinwa Lauretta Madu, brand manager, Maltina and Malta Good, Nigerian Breweries PLC was crowned with the award for rising star of Marketing of the year, while Kelvin Olumese, Palmay was named brand manager of the year. The award for the marketing student of the year went to Miss Olatimenhin of Covenant University and Life Continental Lager beer was recognised as the Best Alcoholic Brand of the year.

Palmpay won the Financial Institution of the Year award while Sprite was honoured with the award for Excellence in Experiential marketing. Brand Life clinched the award for the Experiential Agency of the year, and the award for the Best Diary brand of the Year went to Hollandia.

In addition, Life Continental Lager Beer, left with the award for Brand of the Year, and red media was crowned with the award for the PR Agency of the year. Seleem Adegunwa was recognised as the Inspirational Marketing Leader of the Year, and Nigerian Breweries was given the award for the Marketing Company of the Year while Azeez Disu emerged Brand Journalist of the year.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Chairman, Awards Decision Council, Iquo Ukoh said, the Nigerian Marketing Awards is one of the attempts aimed at instilling the consciousness of entrepreneurial mindset in marketing managers, advertising agencies, experiential marketing agencies, stressing that, The Award Decision Council comprising of 13 distinguished members from different spheres of the marketing communications ecosystem were tasked with the responsibility of assessing 145 entries that came in for the 2023 Nigerian Marketing Awards.

According to her, in accessing each entry we looked at problem identification, marketing solutions employed to address the problem, tactics used to execute the identified solution and results achieved or the performance outcome.

“A general observation is that the aspect of detailing out of numbers as a measure of performance should be improved upon. Business is a game of numbers and the presentation of the outcome of marketing activities in the numbers is what provides the basis for more investment in our brands or marketing initiatives.” She added.
