Automotive company, Simba Group, says it has partnered with TVS, a manufacturer of two and three-wheeler automobiles to introduce a new tricycle — the TVS King Deluxe CNG, in Nigeria.

According to a statement, the collaboration underscores a commitment to sustainable urban mobility, enabling consumers to cut down on petrol expenses and contribute to a cleaner future by addressing pollution and embracing eco-friendliness.

The launch, which was attended by key stakeholders from the transportation sector in Abeokuta, Ogun State, featured the unveiling of the TVS King Deluxe CNG. The event served as a follow-up to the primary product launch held in November 2023 in Benin City, Edo State.

According to the company, the debut of the TVS King Deluxe CNG in Abeokuta marks a notable stride forward, acknowledging the expanding CNG infrastructure in the city.

It also reflects Simba TVS’s dedication to prioritising the needs of riders, fleet owners, and distributors.

The launch event included test rides and provided stakeholders with an exclusive opportunity for firsthand interaction with the TVS King Deluxe CNG.

It also showcased the ‘Berekete’ savings offering, highlighting Simba TVS’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions.

The TVS King Deluxe CNG was designed to serve as a game-changer in eco-friendly mobility, delivering good fuel efficiency while curbing pollution. Its redesigned features include a bold bezel, a crystal-like tail lamp, and an enhanced steering column.

With a certified 30-litre CNG tank and bi-fuel option, the tricycle is built to ensure sustainability without compromising performance.

It also has enhanced safety features such as brighter headlamps and double fuel valve protection to ensure visibility and safety and make it a standout choice for greener and more efficient transportation.

The TVS Deluxe CNG boasts a robust 200 cc 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder SI engine. This powerhouse delivers impressive performance, generating a maximum power output of 6.3 kW at 5500 rpm in the CNG variant.

The Business Head of Simba Group, Mahindra Pratap, said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s plans to introduce CNG vehicles across different states.

He said, “Beyond assisting riders in reducing petrol expenses, this innovative vehicle plays a pivotal role in fostering a sustainable and greener future for our communities with a sustainable model.”

The Vice President – International Business, TVS Motor Company, Rahul Nayak, said, “TVS Motor continues to lead the Keke market in Nigeria with its innovation and customer-centric offerings.

We take immense pride in introducing the TVS King Deluxe CNG, the first CNG variant in the Nigerian market, aimed at improving and enhancing the well-being and prosperity of individuals. With this addition, we are confident of setting benchmarks in style, performance, and safety in the keke segment.”
